Our society seems increasingly prone to violence in response to the complexity and diversity of our world. The social conditions of a global but highly connected world can easily remind us of what's not working. Yet In the granularity of each life and community we see constant evidence of civility and hope. Violence leads us to a culture of death where our fears and biases are self justified in our bad acting. Refraining from violence is a discipline to have more hope than the facts indicate. Even in the most intractable human circumstances choosing civility, fairness, and shared problem solving elevates our game to what we can be...magnificently human. David Ramey
